It’s winter across Europe. In the football world its more than just a chill weather, across all the leagues, business is being done, players are switching clubs , bids are being made and others are walking out as free agents. Today I would have a closer look as to whom has EPL top clubs signed, are planning to sign and whom they are letting go.
Liverpool
By virtue of being on top of the league with 4points ahead of the 2nd placed last season’s champions, Liverpool seem to be so inactive when it comes to bringing in new faces at An field. So far none has been reported to have joined the Merseyside outfit. Even though, a number of players have moved out of the club in search for more playing time. Nathaniel Clyne has been shipped to Bournemouth on loan. His fellow An Field counterpart Dominic Solanke has also been offloaded to Bournemouth on a permanent deal at a fee noted to $19m. Ovie Ejaria was also loaned out to Reading.
So far the club is being linked to last season admire Nabil Fekir. The Lyon forward is noted to have handed in a transfer request and Liverpool are keen to utilize on this opportunity to bring in the French international.
Manchester City
The 2017/2018 EPL champions are also inactive in transfer market this January. Having made four signings last summer with top star being Riyad Mahrez from Leceister City, thry are yet to have a new player coming in. on departures, Brahim Diaz has been sold out to Real Madrid. City risk losing its duo centre back defenders Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala who will be running out of contract at the end of this season.
Tottenham Hotspurs
Just like summer where they set a record of being first Premier League club to add no new faces since the transfer window was first introduced. January to them is no exception as so far no one has been brought in. on departures, Moussa Dembele has been reported to have been signed by a chiness outfit and Jaden Brown sold to Huddersfield Town. The likes of Fernando Llorente and Michel Vorm have their contract expiring this coming summer.

Chelsea.
They started off the 1st to 31st winter transfer window with a bang! The London outfit made the first winter signing of American star Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund at a fee reported to be around $ 64m. They proceeded to loan him out the club until the end of this season.
The club has been struggling to have the point man in front of the goal despite having the duo of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud both who have been struggling to score. The club is reported to have sorted the services of Juventus star Higuian who has been on loan at AC Millan. The 31 year old Argentine is expected be unveiled this Friday and handed his debut against Arsenal this Saturday. The arrival of Higuin will pave way for Alvaro Morata who is been a target for Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid and Seville. Chelsea are known to be the club with most number of players out on loan. Cesc Fabregas made his departure to Monaco where he will make a reunion with his former teammate Thierry Henry who is the clubs manager.

Arsenal
Having gone 22games unbeaten across all competitions this season, Arsenal looked liked they had it all running smoothly until the injury scare roomed in. they found themselves struggling defensively as evidenced by 5-1 thrashing by Liverpool. This winter they are yet to bring in anybody despite being linked by star players like Denies Suarez from Barcelona.
Arsenal seem to have bigger problems ahead as the likes of Petr Cech, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Nacho Monreal, Aaron Ramsey (joining Juventus) and Danny Welbeck will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Manchester United
They have been through ups and downs. Rifts between the players and their former manager Jose Mourihno is said to have been the centre of all their struggles. Having been fired, United seem to have find the right man for the club under the care taker of their former player Ole Gunner Solkjer. He is being fronted for the job permanently having won all the six games he has been in charge.
On transfer market, Solkjer is yet to inject in new blood but has been linked to various top defenders from Italian clubs. It seems he will have to be active on the market as failure to award new contracts to Matteo Darmian, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones, Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young will spell doom if they walk out freely at the end of the season.
