Its yet another time the great leagues across Europe take a break. after an amazing weekend, the abnormal happenings and the normal happened. from the loss at camp Nou to a beating witnessed in Manchester derby. here is the break down of the international break.

AFCON Qualification

this is the interesting lot. African teams a bracing themselves for the 2019 AFCON to be hosted in Morocco. after playing 4 matches across all the 12 groups, the teams will embark on the 5th round of the qualifications.

The Group F Drama

its my group of interest. With Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana and Sierra Leone being the occupants, Ghana were labelled the King of the group right from the grouping stage. They were said to have been presented a silver plate in regards to an easy qualification road map. interestingly, Kenya disapproved them at Kasarani on 8th September with a win following a Nicholas Opoku’s first half own goal

Sierra Leone have been the interesting lot after seeing their points gifted freely to Ghana after they were suspended by FIFA for having their government interfering with their sports association. The suspension still stands up to the current international break. This has seen their game against Harambee stars being canceled. on that effect, Stars have scheduled a friendly match. The Leone Stars, who beat Kenya 2-1 in the reverse fixture June last year, also forfeited back-to-back qualification matches against Ghana last month. CAF has however explained it will give more direction on the status of Group F where Kenya commands the group with seven points, Ethiopia second with four, Ghana third with three while bottom-placed Sierra Leone also have three points.
